PURPOSE:To erase the noise efficiently with a low power without raising the temperature of a sheet, by arranging many aperture type white fluorescent lamps which emit the light of 400-600nm and moving the storage type phosphor sheet under these light sources. CONSTITUTION:In an erasing light source 18, 6 units each of which consists of 5 aperture type white fluorescent lamps emitting the light of 400-600nm are arranged in parallel. Chains 7a and 7b having pawls 9a-9f and 3 belts 8a-8c are stretched under the light source 18. A storage type phosphor sheet is carried in through a conveyor belt 19 and nip rollers 12a and 12b for carrying-in and is held by the pawl 9a of the chain and is irradiated with the light of 400-600nm to erase the noise and is ejected to a receiving plate 17 by nip rollers 14a and 14b for carrying-out. Thus, the noise is erased efficiently with a low power without raising the temperature of the sheet.
