A valve arrangement (10) which can be used for fluids at high temperature and high pressures has an outer jacket (16) and an inner jacket (12), which is fitted coaxially therein, at a distance. Outer and inner parts of a valve operating connecting piece (40, 38), which extend at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the inner jacket, are likewise provided at a distance from one another. A layer (66) consisting of elastic or flexible heat-insulating material covers the outer surface of the inner jacket and of the inner part (38) of the operator connecting piece; its thickness is dimensioned such that it occupies only a part of the intermediate space between the two jackets and the inner and outer operating connecting piece parts. The remaining portion (34, 42) of the internal space is essentially filled by a body (68) consisting of material which can be cast, is rigid and is resistant to heat. A movable valve part (22) is arranged in the inner jacket. Supported in the valve operator connecting piece is a valve operator arrangement (54, 56, 58), which extends inwards as far as the inner jacket and is thus attached to the movable valve part such that the latter can be moved between a fully opened position and a fully closed position in order to influence the fluid flow through the inner jacket. An anchoring device (72, 74, 76) is provided on the inner jacket on both sides of the axis of the valve operator connecting piece, which anchoring device permits a radial relative movement of the inner jacket with respect to the outer jacket, while a longitudinal relative movement of the inner jacket with respect to the outer jacket is prevented. This ensures the functionality of the movable valve part, since the area around this valve part is kept stationary in the longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>
