The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for the regulated supply of a load. The circuit arrangement which is used both for charging a battery and for the power supply of a motor has a flyback converter with a transformer, a controllable transistor being connected to the primary winding of the transformer. Since the battery is connected via the series circuit of two resistors and the collector-emitter junction of the controllable transistor, the inductance and transistor tolerances have virtually no effect on the charging current. For function indication, a light-emitting diode can optionally be connected in parallel with the secondary winding of the transformer, in series with a diode and a bias resistor, or a light-emitting diode can be connected in parallel with the base-emitter junction of the controllable semiconductor switch, in the case of the latter possibility, the light-emitting diode being used at the same time as a limiting diode for the negative base-emitter voltage during the period when the controllable semiconductor switch is switched off. <IMAGE>
