PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion due to saturation of audio equipment, by splitting an input signal into a plurality of frequency bands and limiting the amplitude of the split signal. CONSTITUTION:A signal inputted to an input terminal 1 is split into a plurality of frequency bands with a plurality of filters 2a, 2b-2m. The signals band-split are limited for the amplitude at amplitude limiters 3a, 3b-3m, applied to filters 4a, 4b-4m, and picked up at an output terminal 5 via an adder 4n synthesizing the outputs. In setting the limit of amplitude to a level lower than the saturation level of amplifiers and speakers connected to the output terminal 5, the saturation of the amplifiers and speakers can be prevented. |
