PURPOSE:To obtain a button-type alkaline battery, which has a reduced cost and an increased liquid-leakage resistance, by making any permanent magnet unnecessary by permanently magnetizing at least one of a positive and a negative can by applying a magnetic fluid to an insulating gasket. CONSTITUTION:A nagative mixture 2 made of an amalgamated zinc is packed into a nagative can 1, which is prepared by stickng a ferrite-system SUS member and a copper plate together. Next, a positive can 3 made of a ferrite-system SUS member is packed with a positive mixture 4 made of silver oxide, mercury oxide or the like, and an electrolyte-holding member 5 also serving as a separator is placed on the mixture 4. Then, after elecrolyte is poured onto the member 5, the negative can 1 packed with the mixture 2 is superposed in such a manner that the mixture touches the member 5, with an insulating gasket 7 coated with a magnetic fluid 6 interposed between the cans 1 and 3. After that, the opening part of the can 3 is inwardly curled so as to seal the battery. |
