PURPOSE:To give sufficiently functions of light transmission and interception, by providing transparent electrodes uniformly on all of the front face and the rear face of the principal plane of a plane plate corresponding to the visual field to incorporate an optical shutter element utilizing the solid-state electrooptic effect. CONSTITUTION:The constitution of an optical shutter element incorporated in a stereospectacles device is shown with the top view and the cross-sectional view in figure. Transparent electrodes 20 and 30 are provided in all of the part corresponding to the visual field of a person on front and rear faces of a solid- state plane plate 10 having a Kerr effect as an electrooptic effect or the light scattering effect due to forced phase change, and polarizing plates 40 and 50 are so provided that front and rear faces of the solid-state plane plate 10 are interposed between axes 40a and 50a of polarization. |
