PURPOSE:To stably cut a metallic material even in high speed drawing, by providing a means which temporarily restricts the end part of the material to the outer circumference of a drawing drum placed behind a cutter and makes downward force act on the material. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous drawing device of a metallic material 2, a part 41 of the lower end of a drum 4 is bent to the inside; a dog 7 and a cutter 8 are arranged on the extension line of said bend part, and a restricting means 9 and a dropping means 10 are also arranged on the extension line. When the material 2 is wound up around the outer circumference of the drum 4 to make the prescribed number of coils and pressed by a snubbing roll 5, the tip of the material 2 is cut off by the cutter 8 after actuating a cylinder 16 and an air nozzle 10 of the dropping means. In this case, a part of the material 2 leading to the cut off part is pressed to the drum 4 by a clamping piece 9 of the restricting means. Though the piece 9 returns after the actuation of cutter 8, a part leading to the tip of material 2 is pushed downward by a compressed air from the air nozzle 10 to surely drop into a tray 6. |
