PURPOSE:To obtain a titled spacer expander that prevent deflection in the direction of B-dimension which is generated in conventional channel-shaped spacer expanders and reduce consumption of lubricating oil by bringing opposed faces of separated holding part of a pair of upper and lower annular side rails into contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:In this steel spacer expander 8, intermediate opposed faces of separated holding part of upper and lower side rails 4, 4 having channel-shaped sectional form openig to inside in radial direction is formed in recess 9 form inward in vertical direction, and a bottom 10 is abutted to it. A side rail pressing part 11 that stretches outward in vertical direction is formed at the end of the expander 8. Further, a leg 12 that stretches in radial direction from the end of the pressing part 11 is formed. This leg 12 keeps the oil ring groove 13 and back clearance constant and improve operation of assembling in case of automatic assembling. The rails 4, 4 press the sliding face of outer periphery of the side rail uniformly to the inner wall 15 of the cylinder. At the same time, they press the upper and lower faces 16, 17 of the groove 13. |
