PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure the printing element part of the printing plate accurately at a high speed and make it possible to correspond to various printing machine, by computing the area ratio of the printing element part for every picture element of the printing plate. CONSTITUTION:A scanning and detecting device 2 faces the printing plate P, moves in the direction A and which is perpendicular to the advancing direction of the printing, divides the printing plate P into a plurality of the picture elements, and detects the area ratio of the printing element for every picture element. A device, which generate pulses in response to the movement of said detecting element 2, is provided. A device, which counts said generated pulses, computes the movement of the detecting device 2, and divides the printing plate P into regions having the width corresponding to the ink adjusting width of the printing machine, is further provided. A device, which obtains the area ratio of the printing element part based on the picture element included in the region, is also provided. The area ratio of the printing element part of the printing plate P is measured in order to preset the amount of the ink supply from divided ink bottles of the printing machine. |
