While ensuring the maintenance of correct switching-off operation of an electrical switching contactor, in order to reduce its production and assembly costs with respect to the elements for influencing the switching arc, the electrical switch contact is constructed in such a manner that the switch contact (2) which supports the contact facing (1) on its end is constructed from a composite material having at least two layers and, to be precise, of a plated outer layer (3) of highly conductive non-ferrous metal, and of a layer (4) of ferromagnetic metal. <IMAGE>
