A continuous casting mould consists of high-grade thermally conductive Cu or of Cu alloys but, to improve the wear resistance and to avoid surface defects of the continuous casting at its contact points with the Cu or the Cu alloys, this region is provided with an Ni metal coating different from the metal of the mould. According to the invention, an upper boundary section (12) between the mould substrate (10) and the metal coating (11) extends in a curvature having a radius (R) of preferably equal to (15 to 25) x t, with t = thickness of the metal coating.
