PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device, to eliminate the need for maintenance, and to improve reliability, by converting picture information on a material to be read into picture signals of different colors, and varying the heating value of the heat resistor of a thermal line dot printer according to said picture signals of different colors. CONSTITUTION:An original inserted into an original insertion opening 3 is conveyed as shown by an arrow (a) by a feed roller 4 and is scanned in strict contact by a strict contact sensor scanner part 5. Said scanner part 5 emits light of different color on every scan by conveying the original forward and backward several times to obtain a picture signal of complementary color of the emitted light color from reflected light from the original. The picture signal of complementary color from the scanner part 5 is supplied as print data to a thermal head 16, and the heating time of a heat resistor is controlled to perform color- by-color transfer to transfer paper 17. |
