PURPOSE:To perform efficient operation processing regarding relational data bases, by sorting attribute data while giving virtual keys, and also sorting other attribute data while using virtual keys converted by said sorting processing as addresses. CONSTITUTION:A virtual key generating counter 17 is connected to a CPU 14 through an I/O bus line 15, and every time attribute data to be sorted is sent from a memory 11 to a sort engine 12, a virtual key generated by the counter 17 is supplied to the engine 12 to be added to the attribute data. At the engine 12, the virtual key is masked to sort the attribute data, and the result is supplied to the CPU 14 together with the virtual key. Consequently, addresses of the memory 11 are specified by the CPU 14 on the basis of the converted virtual keys to obtain a sorted relation table from the memory 11. |
