PURPOSE:To prevent the unevenness of application of a toner due to the toner stuck to the surface of a sleeve, by bringing a scraping means into contact with the surface of a carrier for development at intervals of a certain time to scrape a developer. CONSTITUTION:In a flexible toner scraping means 12, a flexible and sufficiently soft cleaning member 14 is provided on a part of the surface of a roller 13. The roller 13 is rotated slowly; and each time a developing sleeve 2 is rotated several tens - several hundreds times, the flexible cleaning member 14 is brought into contact with the surface of the developing sleeve 2 to scrape a toner on the surface of the developing roller. Thus, the frictional charge potential of the toner becomes higher, and the toner is prevented from sticking strongly to the surface of the developing sleeve 2 to cause the unevenness of application of the toner on the sleeve. |
