A method and device are described for generating signal pulses for controlling a stepping motor. A pulse generator generates pulses at a predetermined frequency. The pulses are counted by a pulse counter. Each time a number of pulses, corresponding to a number forming part of a set of predetermind numbers, has been counted a signal is generated. These signals form the signal pulses. The number of pulses that have to be counted to form a signal pulse changes gradually in time whereby a controlled change of speed of the stepping motor is achieved. |
