PURPOSE:To prevent the titled reader from error reading even when lines are adjacent each other by storing the coordinates of a specific position of a character segmented from a character frame in a line and comparing a character in the following adjacent line with the character on the coordinate of the specific position. CONSTITUTION:A card 601 is carried to a read station part and a scanning part on the card is successively projected on a sensor 603 through a lens 602. The output from the sensor 602 is quantized into a black and white binary code by a binary coding circuit 605 through an amplifier 604 and stored in a pattern memory 606 in every two lines. A pattern for one character extracted by an one character segmenting logic 607 is sent to a shift register 608 in every one scanning and shifted in every one bit; when a black component is detected a FF 609 is set up and the component is stored in a register 611. The signal from the register 611 is compared with the maximum value in the preceeding scanning by a comparator 612, and when the present value is smaller than the former value, the present value is selected, inputted to a gate 620 and stored in a register 610. |
