<p>The coupling for railway carriages has a frame (11) attached to the vehicle chassis (3). It can be placed in compression against the chassis and has buffers (19) to resist this. The frame has an engaging pad (20) for a support (22) on the chassis, with the line of force extending through the central line of the chassis. The pad and support have corresponding surfaces to allow a difference in orientation of the frame, around a vertical axis corresponding to the curvature of the support face.</p> |
