The amphibious vehicle can travel over land or water and contains at least one convergent/divergent chamber (8) in the lower hull of the vehicle. The chamber (8) has an air intake (7) at the front of the vehicle and an outlet (13) directed towards the rear. Air passing through the chamber (8) whilst the vehicle is in motion creates excess pressure in the chamber, which generates uplift and reduces resistance to movement.
