For continuous fine-grade milling, suspending or disintegrating fluid, powdery or pulpy substances an agitator mill is provided in which a drive shaft (32) which is mounted in a fixed bearing housing (14) is detachably coupled to an agitator shaft (70) which protrudes into a milling container (20). The milling container (20) is detachably fastened to the bearing housing (14) and separated, by means of a separation device (66), from a discharge chamber (68) arranged inside the bearing housing (14). The separating device (66) has a rotating separating ring (56) which is centred on and screwed tight to the drive shaft (32), and a fixed separating ring (60) which is screwed tight to the bearing housing (14). In order to permit the agitator shaft (70) to be decoupled from the drive shaft (32) without anything having to be changed on the separating device (66), the rotating separating ring (56) is attached to the drive shaft (32) independently of the agitator shaft (70) and the agitator shaft (70) has an end plate (74) which is clamped to the rotating separating ring (56) by means of bolts (76) which are parallel to the axis. <IMAGE>
