The invention relates to a wheel cover for disc wheels with air intake openings provided in the wheel dish. In disc wheels of this kind, both the rim flange area and the wheel disc heat up to a great extent during relatively slow braking. For more effective cooling of the wheel in these areas, an annular collar which rests against the wheel dish is provided at the rear of the wheel cover and divides the space between the wheel cover and the wheel dish into an inner subspace and an outer subspace. For the cooling ventilation of the inner subspace which encloses the wheel disc, air openings, in particular an annular gap, are provided in the wheel cover inside the annular collar whilst the outer subspace has an annular gap for conducting away the cooling braking air flowing in via the air intake openings, said gap being formed by the outer circumferential part of the wheel cover and the rim flange.
