Programme noise suppression circuit for a magnetic tape recording and playback apparatus. In order to effect programme switching and noise suppression, a programme changing switch (SW), which is connected to earth, a programme switching device (5) of the magnetic tape recording and playback apparatus, which is connected via the programme changing switch (SW) to earth, and at least one noise suppression circuit (R1, R3, D1; R2, R4, D2), which is connected between the playback circuit of the magnetic tape recording and playback apparatus and the programme changing switch (SW), are provided. The programme switching device (5) and the noise suppression circuit (R1, R3, D1; R2, R4, D2) are designed in such a way that they operate simultaneously with the actuation of the programme changing switch (SW). <IMAGE>
