TRIAZENE COMPOUND, PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF

Triazene compounds of the formula: R-CH=N-N=N-OH wherein R is alkyl, alkenyl or aryl and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, have a relaxation activity on smooth muscle and a hypotensive activity; the triazines may be prepared by reacting a corresponding aldehyde of formula RCHO with hydrazine, followed by a reaction with a silylating agent and then with a nitrosating agent; triazene compounds in which R is trans, trans, trans-2,4,6(or 7)undecatrienyl can be prepared by culturing a strain of Streptomyces aureofaciens.
