PURPOSE:To set a total counter of a copying machine or the like to zero easily and surely, by displaying the counted value of the total counter and driving the total counter in accordance with this value. CONSTITUTION:When a total counter set mode is selected, the counted value of a total counter which counts the total number of copies is displayed on a numerical value display part 38, and this numerical value is stored in an incorporated copy controlling microcomputer MC. The total counter is operated in accordance with pulses passing through the computer MC, and the counted value of the total counter becomes zero after reaching the upper limit value. When a wiring for the counter set mode is short-circuited in this state, the set mode cannot be selected hereafter, and thus, the contents of the total counter of the copying machine is set to zero easily and surely without a special jig or the like when the copying machine is carried out. |
