PURPOSE:To enable to obtain several kind of compressors having different capacities in an extremely economical manner without changing the principal design of the compressor, by varying the length of a by-pass groove formed in a member such as a front head or a rear head not requiring superfine machining. CONSTITUTION:A by-pass groove 17 for varying the capacity of a compressor is formed in either of a front head 15 or a rear head 16 which does not require superfine machining. The by-pass groove 17 is for communicating a suction passage 19 and a high-pressure chamber in which pressure is raised at the time of compression process and it is formed in the surface of the rear head 16 facing a cylinder chamber 5a as an arcuate groove surrounding a turning shaft 10. The volume of the cylinder chamber 5a is selected to meet with the compressor having the greatest capacity in the compressor series. As for compressors requiring a smaller capacity than that, the length of the by-pass groove 17 is changed, thereby it is enabled to obtain several types of compressors having smaller capacities. |
