A hinge comprises a sleeve unit 2 and an L-shaped arm 4, the unit 2 being made of nylon or like material and having one or more resilient peripheral fins 12 tightly fitting within a cavity 13 in one of the hinged members 16, the L-shaped arm 4 being pivotably connected to a spindle 5 to the unit 2 and secured to the other hinged member 10 at 9. The fins 12 may have a range of cross sections i.e., rounded, square or triangular and may be of helical form to facilitate removal of the unit 2 from the cavity 13. Prior to assembling the unit 2 within the cavity 13 the outer surface of the unit is coated with glue which is non- adherent to nylon to enable the unit to be rotated and withdrawn. |
