Ergometer having an eddy-current braking device

An ergometer is proposed which has an eddy-current braking device and operates independently of rotational speed. The dependence of the torque (Md) on the braking current (IE) and on the rotational speed (n) is stored in a computing and processing circuit (29). The computing and processing circuit determines the braking current with the aid of a desired power value set on a setting device (25) and of the speed of the rotor (17) of the eddy-current braking device which is generated by the subject.
