The invention proposes a rail vehicle for transportation within a works, which, with different pallets, provides a versatile transportation and storage system, a transverse displacement waggon being displaceable on a base waggon transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the track for the base waggon. The transverse displacement waggon and base waggon can be equipped with hydraulic lifting devices for the appropriately matching pallet system.
