An apparatus for supplying a cyclically operated ampoule-filling and -closing machine in which ampoules are withdrawn from a magazine by means of a worm conveyor and are transferred to a transport device which feeds the ampoules intermittently to the various working stations. The rotational speed of the worm conveyor as a function of time is changed by a control device in such a way that the transfer of the ampoules to the transport device is optimally adapted to the intermittent operation, so that ampoules are passed at the correct time from a magazine to the working stations both with a rotary machine and a linear machine, without using transfer devices.
