A device for supporting human and animal limbs consists of an elastic supporting sleeve which can be extended transverse to its longitudinal axis and which envelopes the body part with prestressing. The supporting sleeve is allocated a resilient sleeve which is of greater diameter than the body part. The supporting sleeve can be drawn onto the resilient sleeve in the axial direction, and the resilient sleeve can be drawn off under the supporting sleeve in the axial direction.
