A pneumatic brake system with an air drier (1) filled with granulate is proposed, which is incorporated, hanging down, into the piping system. On its underside a water collecting chamber (6) is provided, which can be externally drained by way of an automatically functioning valve (10). The water collecting chamber (6) can be equipped with a heating device (heating element 22), so that in winter the water does not freeze in the collecting chamber (6).
