PURPOSE:To enable miniaturization of a device and perform a high-precise detection, by a method wherein, in a rate gyroscope, a retarding torque is produced by a magnetic member, mounted to a motor, and a conductor attached to a case, and the displacement of the magnetic member is detected by a magnetic sensor. CONSTITUTION:A motor 24, driving rotors 23, 23' provided with a spin shaft 30, can turn about an output shaft 32, and if a gyroscope turns around a shaft 31, the motor 24 turns around the shaft 32 by means of a torque corresponding to an angular velocity. A torsion bar 29 applies a restoring spring torque, produced by a twisting, to said turn, and E-shaped magnetic members 26, 26', secured to the motor, and conductive plates 33, 33' mounted to a case, provide a retarding torque by an eddy current action. A sensor 27, consisting of magnetic circuits 41, 41' and a Hall element 42, senses the magnetic flux of the E-shaped member, and detects a displacement (proportioning an angular velocity) around the shaft 32 of the motor, i.e., the support part of the rotor. |
