PURPOSE:To weld base materials which are difficult to be laser-welded adequately to each other by subjecting said materials to a fore stage wherein dividing one laser into two parts and a metallic coating layer that absorbs laser light is formed by one of the divided laser light and irradiating the other devided laser light to the metallic coating layer thereby welding the base materials. CONSTITUTION:Laser light 1 is divided into two parts by a triangular prism 2, and is separated in diametrical directions. The divided laser light 4a, 4b are deflected toward a weldment 7 on a transfer table 6 via respective reflecting mirrors 5a, 5b and condenser lenses 8a, 8b. In welding, first metallic powder 10 is melted in the presence of the insert gas by the laser light 8b, whereby a metallic covering layer 13 that absorbs laser light is formed on the weldment 7. The layer 13 is again melted by the laser light 8a, and the weldment 7 having low absorptivity to laser light is melted indirectly by the melting temp. thereof, whereby the weld zones are joined surely. |
