PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of manufacturing magnetic heads, by welding core blocks at the end parts of window sides of winding. CONSTITUTION:Glass vapor-deposited films 14, 15 for regulating gap lengths are formed on front gap surfaces 7, 8 of core blocks 5, 6. Glass vapor-deposited films 14a, 15a may be formed on back gap surfaces in the same way as in the front gap surfaces. A pair of core blocks on which glass vapor-deposited films 14, 15, 14a, 15a are formed, are allowed to butt and the end parts 16 of window sides of winding of back gap parts are joined together by welding in a seam shape continuously or partially. The welding is performed by inserting optical fibers 18 into a winding window part 20 and conducting laser rays to the optical fibers 18. By this way, a masking and masking-removal processes of back gap parts are omitted and as this way is more efficient than that of silver solder joining, the efficiency of manufacturing heads is improved. |
