Apparatus for the filtering of a suspension or emulsion and comprising a bed 6, 7 of a particulate filter material arranged in a vessel or tank 1, one or more inlets 8 for the suspension or emulsion that is to be filtered, arranged at the bottom of the bed, means 3 for removing the filtrate, and arranged above the bed means of raising 13 for conveying contaminated filter medium from the bottom of the bed to a means 14 for washing or otherwise treating the filter medium, and means for recycling treated filter medium to the top of the bed. The means of raising 13 for conveying contaminated filter medium are arranged so that they can move along the horizontal extent of the filter bed and are preferably arranged on carrier devices 15, which can be moved forwards and backwards, which are located above the filter bed and also carry means 14 for treatment of the filter medium. <IMAGE> |
