PURPOSE:To obtain a disc material having water resistance and durability by using transparent org. resins as an optical disc material, and applying hydrophobic hard coating on the surfaces of substrates consisting of thermoplastic and thermosetting resins. CONSTITUTION:Transparent resin of a thermoplastic resin 1 and a thermosetting resin 6 are used as substrates, and hydrophobic hard coat layers 2, 7 are formed on the surfaces. Track grooves 5, 9 and recording layers 3, 11 are provided via spacers 4, 10 on two sheets of the substrates and these are formed to one body, whereby an optical disc recording medium is obtained. Thermoplastic resin of PVC and methyl methacrylate and thermosetting resin of allyl diglycol carbonate are used as the transparent org. resin. Silicone resin, acrylic resin and melamine resin are selectively used for the hard coating material. Thus the optical disc made of plastics of low cost having hard surface and water resistance is obtained. |
