The invention relates to an internal combustion engine with lever pistons for the transmission of combustion pressure in the working chamber of the lever piston engine to the connecting rod to the crankshaft, especially for motor vehicles and/or sporting aircraft. In internal combustion engines of this type it is necessary to increase the economic efficiency. The object of the invention is to transmit the combustion pressure in the cylinder through the piston more efficiently to the connecting rod or crankshaft. According to the invention this object is achieved in that the lever piston engine is assembled from a lever piston, which has one or up to four piston sides (drawings fig. 1, 2, 3) with a piston axis from which the lever function of the lever piston is derived, the connecting rod, which transmits the work of the lever piston to the crankshaft, and the respective working chamber. <IMAGE>
