PURPOSE:To improve the lengthy storage and lengthy discharge characteristics of an air cell and to reduce its cost by using an air pole with a metallic phthalocyanine compound having a sulfone group and an epichlorohydrin derivative and with carbon powders in coexistence. CONSTITUTION:A metallic phthalocyanine compound having a hydrophilic sulfone group and an epichlorohydrin derivative is dissolved in water, and carbon powders are immersed in the aqueous solution so as to be fully absorbed. After it is filtered to remove water and is dried, an air pole is formed with the metallic phthalocyanine and carbon powders in coexistence, and an heat process is applied at some 350-1,000 deg.C as required to improve the oxygen reduction capability. The air cell using this air pole is excellent in the storage performance and can sufficiently withstand the lengthy discharge at a feeble current. |
