<p>PURPOSE:To prevent such parts as belts, bearings and so on from damaging, by monitoring what we call a lock phenomenon in each individual operating element upon detection of relative slide motions between a pulley and its belt and thereby turning off a solenoid clutch. CONSTITUTION:In time of operation, if a compressor 1 is locked by seizure or binding, driving torque grows large and when this torque augment comes beyond the fixed amount, a belt 19 gets sliding within a belt groove 4, rotating a roller 30 and a cam member 33 against the repulsive force of a return spring 32. On the other hand, when the tip of the cam member 33 is linked with the terminal 38 of a switch 37, said switch 37 comes into off-operation, opening a solenoid clutch circuit, whereby the solenoid clutch is likewise turned into off-operation. In this way, a pulley 3 is switched to an idler circuit in a moment; the breakdown of the belt 19 and damage to bearings 2 are all avoidable.</p> |
