The roof window contains a pane frame (2) which is pivotable, relative to a basic frame (1) inserted into the roofing, about a common edge and is displaceable laterally along this edge. A running rail (4) is mounted displaceably on the pane frame (2) by means of a guide rail (5) on the basic frame (1). The guide rail (5) is mounted rotatably relative to the basic frame (1) about a shaft. This shaft is itself mounted rotatably in mountings fastened firmly to the basic frame (1). Arranged around the shaft within the guide rail (5) is a helical spring which is under prestress when the window is closed. As a result, the roof window, after being released, on the one hand is opened automatically by a specific amount and, on the other hand, can, if required, be opened further beyond this amount without any other action. <IMAGE> |
