PURPOSE:To increase the extensible length of an existing container ship to be extended to the bow and the stern by making a reinforcing doubler fast fixed on a longitudinal strength member of a hull specific times as thick as the longitudinal strength member. CONSTITUTION:For extending an existing container ship with a large hold section toward the bow and the stern, a doubler 5 of a longitudinal strength member is fast fixed on a hull of an upper deck 3, a shell plate 4, and others. At this stage, a thickness tb of the reinforcing doubler 5 is made 1.5-2.8 times as thick as a thickness ta of the mother member. This construction permits the hull to obtain a longer extension than before. |
