PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of an electronic typewriter without the need for additinal circuit by using a system in which the mutiple push condition of plural specific keys is detected and numerals to be printed thereafter are counted for the electronic typewriter to count printed letters, marks, or words. CONSTITUTION:When, in a key board KBD, a shaft lock key SL is locked and a half space key HS, a repeat key RT, and a tabulation key TB are orderly being operated, there comes into the first mode for counting the number of letters and marks by a control circuit CM1. In the control circuit CM1, following the operations of letter and mark keys and a function key to be operated after becoming the first mode, the moving amount of the carriage is counted by units of letter and mark number. When the operation of a line feed key is detected, the first mode is ended. |
