PURPOSE:To realize a good connection state and make the housing smallsized, by providing one set of detaining mechanisms for a female connector and male connector. CONSTITUTION:An optical connector consists of a female connector 1 and a male connector 2, and the female connector 1 is attached to a case 4 incorporating an electric circuit by a set-screw 3 (13). An insertion part 7 is formed in the front half of a housing 5 of the female connector 1, and a photoelectric element 9 is stored in an element storage chamber of the rear half, and windows 10 are provided in the front of the housing 5. Tips of optical fiber cables 28 are fixed and stored in a plug 26 of the male connector 2. When a press part in the rear of a detaining piece 32 provided on the male connector 2 is depressed with a finger, the front is expanded upward; and when the insertion part 7 of the female connector 1 is inserted to an aperture 31 of the male connector 2, a detaining pawl 14 is fitted to a pawl insertion hole of the detaining piece 32, and thus, a good connection state is realized. |
