The automatic screwdriver inserts screws in succession in workpieces and comprises a driven rotary holder in a guide tube and accommodating a blade or tool. A top housing is mounted on the tube, the screws being delivered automatically to it via a feed tube and holds the screws in position for engagement by the tool. The screws are contained in a cap (2), which can turn in relation to the top housing (1). The cap can have an internal peripheral surface (14) working with the tool (6).
