PURPOSE:To secure a storage coaler capable of loading and unloading at will, by setting up a coal stowage opening at each side tank top of a ship retired from coal/oil carrier service as well as the plural number of openings beneath a longitudinal bulkhead between the side tank and a center tank, while concreting on a bottom stiffener. CONSTITUTION:The stowage of coal into a coaler 1 is carried out in the following procedures that it is cast in from a coal carrier 17 through the upper part of a hatch 5 with a traveling crane 9 and thereby a center tank 5 is filled up inside with coal. On the other hand, stowage into a side tank 3 is as follows tht first each hopper 14 of the crane 9 is adjusted to a coal stowage port 13 and then coal is taken in each side tank 3 from the hoppers 14. Next, when coal is taken out from the coaler 1 to the coal carrier 17, first it is carried out by means of a crab 10 from a center tank 2 and at that point when unloading is drawing near to an end, a heap of coal is collapsed down, through each opening 8, from the tank 3 but when residual quantities inside the tank 3 work out to a coal amount 16, the crumbling stops. Thereupon a sidehill of coal in piles is leveled down from the foot whereby coal inside the tank 3 is put together and taken out by the crab 10. |
