PURPOSE:To simplify the structure and realize automatic exchange of a chuck by opening and closing a pair of clicks which grasps a chuck in connection with a relative reciprocating motion of a chuck holder. CONSTITUTION:When a chuck holder 13 grasps a chuck 14, a pair of clicks 26 is in a state of being locked after getting in touch with a stopper 31 by means of a coil spring 42. Howver, when said holder 13 descends and a lock ring 40 comes in contact with an abutting rod 57, energizing force of the spring 42 is defeated and the clicks 26 is released from the state of being locked. Continuous descent of the holder 13 causes a slant face 37 of the clicks 26 to contact a taper face of a chuck guide 46 and expand so as to grasp the chuck 14. Subsequently, when the holder 13 ascends while grasping the chuck 14, a pair of clicks 26 grasps said chuck 14 more strongly through a motion reverse to the above-mentioned one. |
