<p>The spiral wound ribbon cable is protected by a metallic sheath to give security against electromagnetic induction in the conduction conductors of the ribbon cable from external sources. The spiral wound cable can be wound or bent as a conventional circular section cable. Access to the cable conductor is obtained by stripping off the protective sheath and unwinding part of the spiral, providing a flat portion for fitting of connectors. The cable is additionally provided with a cover to provide mechanical protection. The process facilitates the installation of such cables.</p> |
