PURPOSE:To perform a high-precision connection of a connector easily, by using plugs, which have axial plug elements at tips of base parts, and an adapter where plural adapter elements having hole parts for fitting of plug elements are provided in parallel. CONSTITUTION:A plug 1C is inserted from one side face of an adapter 5 into the inside, and plugs 1A and 1B or the like are inserted selectively from the other side face, thus connecting optical fibers 4A, 4B, and 4C. In this case, for example, a plug element 3A of the plug 1A and a plug element 3C1 of the plug 1C are fitted closely to a hole part 10 of an adapter element 71, and end faces of optical fiber cores exposed to respective end faces of these plug elements are matched to each other. Meanwhile, plug elements 3B1 and 3B2 of the plug 1B and plug elements 3C4 and 3C5 of the plug 1C are butted to each other respectively in adapters 74 and 75 and are connected. |
