The invention relates to a device on a circular knitting machine for controlling the activity of working members of the machine or for controlling the functions of the machine. The invention solves a problem of the control of machine functions by means of a simple microcomputer system with a simplified actuation of the function change-over switch and with instruction keys. The quantities which are controlled are shown on a seven-segment display. The essence of the invention is that the device contains a microcomputer, to the inputs of which a function change-over, instruction keys and switches indicating the state of the working members in individual knitting sections are connected and to the outputs of which a display and switches actuating the working members are connected.
