[Also in Division C3] Novel compounds of the general formula wherein R 1 , R 1 1, R 2 and R 2 <SP>1</SP> independently of one another each represent a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon residue, preferably a lower alkyl radical containing 1-4 carbon atoms, or R 1 +R 2 or R 1 <SP>1</SP> + R 2 <SP>1</SP> form a divalent aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon residue, preferably a tetramethylene or pentamethylene residue: are prepared by reaction of compounds of the formula where X are residues convertible into 1,2- epoxyethyl groups, e.g. by treating a halohydroxyethyl group with a dehalogenating agent such as strong alkali, or by action of a percompound on a vinyl group. |
