PURPOSE:To enable a required head and a required amount of water to be obtained even in a scoop system designated to a low flow rate, by a method wherein a branch pipe provided with a flow rate adjusting part and used for discharging a part of intake water to the outside of the ship is provided in a feed water supplying pipe provided between an inlet scoop and a heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:An outside plating for the ship's hull at the ship's bottom part is provided with an inlet scoop 1 for the intake water, and the scoop 1 is connected to a sea water main pipe 2. A plurality of sea water service pipes 3 are connected to the main pipe 2 to constitute the feed water supplying pipe for the heat exchanger 4. A branch pipe 10 is branched from the feed water supplying pipe and is provided with a variable orifice 5. Accordingly, a part of the sea water taken in through the scoop 1 is caused to flow from the feed water supplying pipe into the branch pipe 10, and is discharged to the outside of the ship through an outlet scoop 7 while being adjusted in flow rate by the orifice 5, so that the amount of water supplied to the heat exchanger 4 can be freely adjusted. |
